About the Role
Our client is seeking experiences Rail Track Maintainer Operators to maintain the railway track, you will be working inside the Network Response teams for the safe execution of breakdown repairs across the Inland portfolio.
Duties and Responsibilities
This role is a great opportunity for an enthusiastic individual with a strong commitment to safety to be part of a collaborative team. Reporting to the Crew Leader, you will be:
Re-railing, resurfacing, sleeper changes and other associated tasks to do with track maintenance
Conducting primary maintenance and breakdown repairs to RTIO rail network assets, including but not limited to; turnouts, IRJs, frogs and sleepers
Safely executing breakdown repairs and recovery of various rolling stock assets including derailment scenarios
Maintain a high level of safety awareness and comply with all RTIO Company Policies and procedures
Actively contribute to continuous improvement projects & increasing safety whilst reducing risk & cost
Utilise SAP to ensure that maintenance tasks are recorded, assigned correctly and completed to the relevant standard / specification
Qualification, Skills & Experience with the below:
  • Experience with rolling stock failures, maintenance and derailment recovery.
  • Aluminothermic Welding Certificate or extensive Off-sider experience
  • Experience working with rail specific Hand Tools
  • Experience Operating Rail Maintenance Machinery - Tamper, Regulator, Tie Inserter (Gemco), Loaders, HIAB, High Rail Excavators, Sax Grinders, Clipping Machines, Shears
  • Experience working with Timber Sleepers
  • Experience working in a hot environment
It will also be beneficial if you have:
  • Trade Certificate - Fitting, Track Machine Fitter, Plant Fitter (Rail Specific)
  • Certificate II in Rail Infrastructure
  • WA C Class Drivers Licence & HR Licence
  • Aluminothermic Welding Ticket (Thermite)
  • High risk Work Licenses desired - DG, C2, CV
  • Rio Tinto Inductions
  • First Aid Certificate
