Our Transport Services division is booming and growing at a rapid pace. To implement our construction growth strategy in Tauranga, we have a Full Time, Permanent role available as a Quality Assurance Site Technician, where you will accurately record and meet quality objectives across current and upcoming contracts.

What does a Quality Assurance Site Technician do at Downer?
Ultimately, you will ensure material, construction and safety compliance along with seamless communication and reporting to management, but let's dig deeper:
  • Ensure that Contract Quality Plans, ITP and other relevant documentation meets the contract specification requirements - providing information to manage quality issues on site.
  • Completion of quality assurance and control documentation including Sealing Data Dockets, Spray Sheets, Weather Data, RAMM data and DJR's etc.
  • Manages weather related conditions such as road temperature, humidity and air temperature to assist with better management of site activities
  • Calculate and control material quantities to ensure compliance with customer requirements
  • Communicate results of findings and highlight quality/compliance issues with Foreperson/Supervisors as they arise
  • Support, implement and adhere to H&S policies and procedures.


You will need to:

  • Have demonstrated interest/experience in maintaining accurate records and data management
  • Be able to conduct basic risk analysis applicable to construction operations
  • Be a 'Team Player' with excellent communication skills
  • Have a good understanding of mathematics as applicable to operations of construction
  • Be a forward thinker who can enable growth in the Division's business, particularly improving efficiency of operations
  • Hold an engineering qualification (desirable but not essential)
