Position summary
Downer Rail a leading name in the manufacturing and maintenance of rolling stock across Australia has an exciting opportunity for a Maintenance Technician to join our team in Auburn. This is a full time fixed term position. (15 months)
This position is a key component of Downer Rail's multi-skilled environment and plays a critical role in the delivery, reliability, maintainability and sustainability of rolling stock management provided to our clients.
Working on a 24/7 rotating roster your responsibilities will include performing maintenance, repair and modification of rolling stock, components and associated equipment within the facility to the required standards.

About you
- Mechanical or Electrical Trade Qualification (essential)
- Current RIW card / willing to obtain
- Experience in Rail or Rolling stock maintenance, Defence, Aviation or Mobile Plant maintenance preferred
- Have a broad understanding of the technical aspects of rail vehicles
- The ability to interpret and understand engineering instructions and schematic diagrams
- Proficient in Microsoft office suite
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
- Must be highly motivated and have excellent organisational skills
- Proactive team member, adaptable and self-directed
- Knowledge and commitment to ensuring a safe workplace
