ABOUT OUR OPERATION:

Agnico Eagle is always looking for new talented team members to join our Nunavut mining operations. Meliadine is located just northwest of Rankin Inlet, a small coastal town on the shores of Hudson Bay. Commercial production began at Meliadine in mid-May 2019 and the mine officially opened at the end of June. This mine is our largest gold deposit in terms of mineral resources and we expect to operate it for at least 14 years. The site features a power plant and processing facilities, as well as a complete camp complex.

YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE:

Reporting to the Maintenance General Supervisor, the Underground Electrical Supervisor will perform his/her duties as a member of the Maintenance Department and collaborate with other departments of the division. The incumbent will ensure the supervision of all underground electrical activities and is responsible for the team's performance and efficiency. He/she will work closely with the Electrical Coordinator in order to achieve the mine plan and the schedule. He/she will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle's culture, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.

  • Apply the principles and practices of the Supervision Formula and HSE best practices;
  • Manage and supervise daily activities of a team of 10 electricians on day and night shift (work schedule/vacations, timesheet approval, candidate selection, new employee onboarding, maintaining of employee files, disciplinary files/recovery plans, organize training to ensure it is followed as per company's policies and procedures);
  • Supervise construction plans' execution, equipment & infrastructure installation, maintenance & troubleshooting, communication network maintenance, etc.;
  • Ensure adequate and reliable electric distribution underground;
  • Ensure compliance with the Canadian Electrical Code and Mines Act;
  • Coordinate power distribution from the power plant to the underground mine with site services & infrastructure;
  • Coordinate mobile equipment availability with the Maintenance General Supervisor;
  • Review key performance indicators (KPI's), deciding on corrective measures to be taken and communicating them to the team;
  • Ensure proper transfer of information with the cross-shift and with their supervisor(s);
  • Hold responsibility for the employee performance process by setting clear goals and expectations, ensuring feedback is delivered;
  • Other tasks as required by the Maintenance General Supervisor.
