Description

Under direct supervision, assist in workload activities with Planners of the assigned department by helping with planning, scheduling and prioritizing activities in collaboration through office and field meetings.

  • Support the area Planners in all facets of job preparation, execution and follow up as prescribed by the Freeport-McMoRan standards, including time spent "in the field" to ensure readiness and availability of materials and equipment resources
  • Maintain a history for all assigned activities in the management system
  • Under the guidance of the Equipment Management System (EMS) closely interact with the Planners in the assigned area to maintain and monitor planned schedules for assigned activities
  • Attend daily, weekly and monthly planning meetings with key stakeholders
  • Review, prioritize and schedule work orders
  • Assist in maintaining the integrity of data in the maintenance management system (SAP)
  • Assist Planners in the planning and organization for planned major production shutdowns
  • Assist Planners with generating regular and ad hoc reports
  • Engage with onsite Global Sourcing to control warehouse minimum/maximum levels and appropriate storage conditions of materials and parts
  • Upkeep, monitor and adjust schedules for assigned activities; maintain these schedules in the management system
  • Organize data to support maintenance management decisions, including departmental budgets and weekly forecasting
  • Perform other duties as needed


Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED and two (2) years of related experience in supporting field maintenance or operations department within a mining/manufacturing environment, OR
  • Associate's degree in applicable field


Preferred

  • Experience with SAP
  • Experience with MS Office
  • Some knowledge of general maintenance practices

  • Ability to understand and apply verbal and written work and safety-related instructions and procedures given in English
  • Ability to communicate in English with respect to job assignments, job procedures, and applicable safety standards
  • Must be able to work in a potentially stressful environment
  • Work is in a mine or manufacturing plant setting, which may include exposure to extremes in temperature and humidity, moving mechanical parts, risk of electrical shock, toxic chemicals, explosives, fumes or airborne particles
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs and ladders, work on elevated platforms, talk, hear and see
  • Occasionally may be required to lift moderately heavy objects (up to 30 pounds) during the course of the workday
  • Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in a mine, outdoor, or manufacturing plant environment, including hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, rubber steel-toe boots, protective clothing, gloves and any other protective equipment as required
