My client, a growing mining group with multiple mining and processing assets currently seeks a Head of Finance to lead the group through a period of significant improvement.

The purpose of the role will be to develop the reporting integrity of, and roll out ERP changes for, a collection of mining and processing assets across West Africa.

We estimate that this first phase of the role will take approximately 18 months. Despite being based in London and the most senior finance position in the company, the initial role will in effect be a Regional Operations FM more akin to someone sat in-country.

There will be opportunity for the position to develop into other projects inclusive of M&A but for clarity the role will sit in what I would describe as a service office, offering functional leaders a varied and consultative role focussed on change management and value add.

The position will really suit an outstanding site CFO/FD/FM who wants a more stable corporate role. Such opportunities are rare to change tack from site to corporate making this a unique value proposition for the right person.

To differentiate themselves, the qualified accountant we seek will speak to both mining and processing or perhaps mining with a prior history of working in manufacturing.

*There will be travel to West Africa (est. 7-10 days per month) otherwise the role will be 5 days per week in Central London with the option of working from home when mutually beneficial.
