Project Director

For our client, an innovative international mining organisation, we are searching for a Russian-speaking Project Director, to be based Eastern Europe. Whilst this position will be based in a HQ environment, there will be regular travel to both Greenfield and Brownfield locations.

The organization in question is currently going through an exciting and sustained growth phase. This position will effectively take the lead on a major new project which is expected to become a flagship site with global and international recognition.

This is a genuine opportunity to be at the very beginning and lead a major strategic international project.

Responsibilities:

• Establish and lead a project team, located mainly in Eastern Europe, to carry out activities related to the finalization of the study of PFS, BFS and finally the execution of the project for a start in 3 to 4 years.
• Ensure the proper implementation and compliance of an HSE policy for project employees and subcontractors with the objective of having zero reportable incidents.
• Select key partners (EPCM) and ensure due diligence is followed.
• Prepare, implement and monitor a project quality management program. Including the implementation of a procedure for monitoring and approving project changes.
• Contribute to the control of technical risks with a control of the relevance and implementation of the R&D and management program
• In collaboration with the organisations’s board, prepare, implement and maintain the procedures and execution plan for the engineering, purchasing & procurement, project control, construction and pre-operational audits functions.
• In collaboration with the risk management, prepare, implement and maintain a project risk and opportunity management system.
• Implement and maintain the communication plan with stakeholders including monthly reports, the Steering Committee and multidisciplinary coordination with the functional participants in the project.

Requirements: 

• For this position, it is necessary to have a profile of 15 to 20 years of experience in leading large industrial projects both in the design and execution phases (construction/commission/ramp-up).
• Fluent Russian and English speaker.
• International experience, with time spent working in Eastern Europe / Russia / CIS.
• A general engineering education profile is preferable with a strong appetite for the industrial sector.
• Experience in dealing with investors, roadshows, and have exposure to board-level decision making in a multinational industrial organisation.
