Summary
The person selected for this position will have experience with civil engineering design and analysis for site layout, grading and drainage, and mass earthwork and will work on projects for mining, fuels, power, and public clients. Work includes completing designs using CADD modeling software, preparing spreadsheets and construction plans and specifications, completing site development designs, and writing reports, as well as performing construction cost estimating, construction observation, and facility inspection. Assignments may also include interacting with permitting agencies and public officials.

NOTE: Some work locations may feature rough terrain typical of construction sites and may also require entering and working within facilities that include limited accessibility, moving machinery, and other conditions typical of industrial facilities. Job assignments may involve work on waste disposal sites and sites requiring cleanup of hazardous materials. An OSHA mandated physical exam may be required. Safety training will be provided. Applicants may be asked to participate in a drug screening program at the request of specific clients.

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering
- Computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Word, as well as intermediate to advanced abilities in Excel
- Familiarity with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or other CAD-based civil design software
- Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
- Ability and willingness to conduct field work independently or with other team members, either locally or out of town, when needed
- A flexible working style, self-motivation, initiative, and a willingness to modify personal schedules as required to meet client needs and project schedules
- Conscientiousness concerning the accuracy, appropriateness, and timeliness of results
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship
- Acceptable driving record
Preferred Qualifications
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certified, or ability to obtain certification within one year
- 2+ years of related work experience
- Experience with Civil 3D
