Our client is a top tier gold producer with several large gold operations situated around Western Australia. An opportunity has arisen in the technical division at one of their premier underground mining operations and they are keen to attract a high calibre professional to join their team.

About the mine
Access to the underground mine is via a portal established within the completed open pit. The mine operates with truck haulage from underground via the pit ramp to the surface. The underground is designed to exploit lodes to a depth of 1.2 km and uses paste fill. The mine is generally owner operated, but does use contractors for special projects and development activities.

The role
Working in this role you will undertake underground medium-term mine design and evaluation work, while working alongside long term planning team. Ideally, your exposure to a variety of different ore body types and models will also help you manage your team to deliver the short-term planning and infrastructure designs, in line with the production schedule.

The role will incorporate, conceptual and detailed design of the underground (including infrastructure), continuous improvement, optimisation, design and evaluation work and ore reserve calculations.

About you

• A high level of experience and knowledge across all areas of mining engineering such as production, ventilation, projects, paste fill, planning, and scheduling
• First Class Mine Managers Certificate of Competency (preferred)
• Experience with managing contract mining service providers
• Experience with mining software, preferably Deswik and Xeras.

The role is offered on an 8/6 roster FIFO from Perth.
