About this role

What will you be responsible for?

Collaborative team member leads cross functional team and planning system to collect global workforce planning data and utilizes the data to drive strategic HR initiatives. Assisting with the design, development and analysis of human capital metrics to support business insight and decision. Will partner with COEs to conduct sophisticated, statistical analysis that supports programs and decision-making. This role will conduct analysis and assisting in identifying and consulting on trends and opportunities

Critical member of our HR team that helps not only tell the story with our current employee data, but also in defining the strategic direction, systems and tools utilized by our global HR team. Role will program manage the development of systems and tools that support the establishment, alignment and integration of workforce planning and analytics into the business to deliver on Newmont's vision and mission. Role will support corporate and regional HR teams managing the creation of key performance indicator dashboards and drive consistency across measurement. Role will develop and maintain data sources that will facilitate strategic dashboard measurement of key HR initiatives. Role supports annual human capital business at the corporate and regional level.

In this role you will

Here is a snapshot of what your day to day will look like:
  • Handle global workforce planning and budgeting process globally, accountable for delivery of global labor budgeting process
  • Partners with operations and support function continuous workforce planning cycle, managing multiple workforce plans and efficiency programs,
  • Prepare executive and board workforce planning analysis and reporting
  • Use statistical and big data related techniques to tackle sophisticated human capital research problems and sophisticated data modeling for time or results based forecasting
  • Collect and report global data from desperate systems, providing meaningful trend and analysis
  • Partner on HR data governance and improvement processes requiring subject matter expertise, process governance & harmonization, standardization & preparation
  • Develop, maintain and deliver strategic HR dashboard data sources and data outputs
  • Handle the implementation of HR reporting systems across global business units
  • Pro-actively design and conduct ad-hoc analysis and develop sophisticated statistical models
  • Lead external market HR reporting requirements
  • Lead collaboration with IT and HR Technology to identify and/or develop the system and tool requirements to support standardized HR reporting and on demand dashboard measurement
  • Work with business to define and refine new operational metrics that promote a culture of learning, continuous improvement, and alignment with organizational goals
  • Partner with COEs to establish KPI of central initiative and evaluate ROI

Here is what we would need to see from you!

Knowledge:
  • Bachelors Degree in Statistics, Mathematics or Computer Science
  • MBA studies and Post graduate or similar experience are required

Experience:
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant HR reporting, Workforce planning or financial planning and analytics.
  • Minimum 3 years experience HR data systems and reporting
  • Mining, construction, utilities or other heavy confirmed experience is preferred.

Skills and Abilities:
  • Demonstrated strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must have ability to effectively utilize Microsoft Word and Excel applications
  • Strong PC skills using MS office software
  • Must have programming experience in R, SAS, SPSS, Python or equivalent
  • Experience with finance systems and understanding of standard finance metrics
  • Ability to balance multiple deadlines and priorities
  • Demonstrated experience defining and implementing sophisticated analytic capabilities and data protection/discretion
  • Demonstrated experience designing and implementing company-wide or high impact data analytics processes and tools
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the field/subject area of Human Resources practices, processes and regulations
  • Adaptable consulting and facilitation skills
