KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Safety, Health, Environment and Community

  • Promote awareness and comply with site standards and procedures in SHEC
  • Demonstrate effective performance in achieving agreed SHEC goals in support of the department, site and company standards
  • Demonstrates leadership in SHEC through personal behaviors and conversations, and ensuring that the Asset Management team report all SHEC incidents and participate in SHEC initiatives
  • Take responsibility for the safety of all personnel, including yourself, at Nyrstar Tennessee Mines
  • Wear proper PPE at all times

Maintenance Strategies

  • Assist in maintaining effective short and long-term maintenance of mechanical equipment
  • Assist monitoring for effective preventative and breakdown mechanical maintenance procedures
  • Assist liaising with warehouse and suppliers (if appropriate) regarding parts and consumables requirements and plans

Provide progressive Processing operations through:
  • keeping up to date with new developments in techniques and computing for maintenance of mechanical equipment
  • submission of ideas for more effective and efficient procedures and methods.

People and Organization

  • Actively participate in the Asset Management department team to support and promote agreed decisions of the department
  • Consistently apply Workplace Management Procedures to ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and visions and values

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:

  • Appropriate trade or related qualification in maintenance of mechanical, hydraulic and electrical equipment or a related discipline
  • 3-5 years experience in maintenance, within a mining, construction, or industrial plant environment
  • Able to use all basic hand tools
  • Math knowledge including; sheave sizing, measurement calculations, decimals, fractional conversions, layout math
  • Experience in Horizontal and Vertical Welding, Stick and Structural Welding
  • Experience reading blue prints and fabricating from those blueprints
  • Experience burning using the appropriate technique/cutter
  • Ability to use layout/measurement tools
  • Able to read micrometers
  • Able to inspect/repair all mine shaft, hoist, crushers, and compressors(under instruction)
  • Basic writing and communications skills
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the Mines Regulations
