Job Overview: This position requires an individual with broad mining experience, some combination of operations, engineering, and corporate office experience is a plus, as well as proven technical competencies to support both underground and surface mining operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical and economic evaluations related to mining engineering, mine planning, mineral processing, and financial analysis. Willingness to participate in successful team projects as well as technical lead on multi-disciplinary projects, project manager or smaller projects in your area of expertise.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Diverse background in mining projects (greenfield and brownfield), past career focus in mine planning, project management or mineral economics is a plus
• Ability to design and analyze using planning software programs such as Deswik, XPAC, MineSight 3D, Carlson, Minemax, Vulcan, or similar packages
• Ability to conduct financial modelling and Life Of Mine studies
• Provide mine engineering and financial expertise
• Analyze and evaluate mine plans, schedules, and capital plans with multiple, competing constraints to determine optimal path forward
• Delivery of project summaries, LoM plans, and budgets to key stakeholders in senior leadership positions
• Understanding of project related risks

Your Capabilities and Credentials

• Strong technical writing and communication skills
• Capability to develop budgets, determine project scope, establish schedules, etc.
• Prior experience in laying a foundational mine-planning process
• Prior experience in prefeasibility and feasibility studies
• Exceptional organizational, technical, leadership, written and oral communication and attention to detail skills

  Qualifications:

• Minimum of a B.S. in Mining Engineering with preference given to those with post-graduate degrees in a related field
• Minimum of 15 years of experience as a practicing Engineer with at least 10 in underground mining operations
• Certification as a professional engineer or qualified professional, or ability to obtain licensure within six months
