The Opportunity

We are currently seeking a Supervisor, Maintenance (PS) in a Mechanical Planner’s role to join our Ontario Operations Department in Sudbury.

The job holder will continuously improve the work team (crew) performance through effective use of established processes and procedures at various plants or mines within the Sudbury area. In this role, as a Supervisor, Maintenance (PS) you will be accountable for mechanical maintenance planning as well as relief supervising as required.

Although previous experience in mining or an industrial setting is considered an asset, we also appreciate that diversity of thought comes from our differences – and that’s what makes us great!

Education:
  • The ideal candidate will have a college diploma or university degree in a related industrial field or a university degree in a related engineering discipline is preferred.
  • The ideal candidate will have valid industrial trade certificate for the province of Ontario is preferred
  • Generic Supervisor Common Core (770141) is preferred.

Experience:
  • The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3-5 years of experience working within SAP.
  • The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3-5 years of experience leading crews.

Requirements & Accountabilities:
  • Required to work Monday to Friday, 8 hours day shift
  • Adhere to maintenance business processes as outlined in Maintenance Planning and Control (MPC) by using approved systems (SAP, Prometheus, etc.), tools and standards.
  • Establish and maintain work relationships with the various key plant stakeholders including supervisors, schedulers, superintendents, crew members, etc.
  • Execute the “Planning and Provisioning” element of the process for all types of work orders - systematic and non-systematic maintenance. This includes shutdown planning.
  • Ensure WO user statuses are properly maintained throughout he lifecycle of the work order.
  • Review and promote/reject all new notifications into your work center through the group approval process.
  • Ensure work orders are planned and ready to be executed prior to the required end date as determined through the notification.
  • Work within assigned budgets and escalate to management should a budget be exceeded.
  • Identify and escalate all critical issues that threaten the successful execution of work orders for completion by their Required End Date.
  • Manage backlog to ensure work orders are planned based off priority and required end date.
  • Communicate and coordinate with procurement partners to ensure requisitioned items arrive as scheduled.
  • Create and update tasklists to capture routine work and efficiencies.
  • Monitor KPIs and actively strive towards plant targets.
  • Relief supervise as necessary which requires:
    • Holding the crew accountable for safe behavior, housekeeping, teamwork and professionalism.
    • Ensure planned work orders are closed with proper time confirmations completed.
    • Work within budget, guidelines and standards.
    • Work with crew to develop an interactive workplace environment.
