About the Role
The purpose of this role is to provide execute and supervise engineering projects to enhance the growth targets across CHPP operations and mine infrastructure. This role is also to implement Structural integrity inspection and Repair implementation at CHPP operations.
Duties & Responsibilities
Your duties and responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
  • Manage Structural integrity program which includes carrying out structural inspection, identifying structures at risk of collapse and implementing repairs or rebuild structure
  • Manage contractors on site to enable successful execution of structural repair program and other projects
  • Implement projects to meet safety and quality expectations of Project Engineers within agreed time targets
  • Prioritizing and sequencing the required work/tasks to optimize value throughout the project.
  • Ensure that EPCM consultants, suppliers and contractors HSE systems and processes comply with statutory requirements.
  • Participate in HSE risk analysis process from initiation stage followed by identification, evaluation, management, reporting and updating stages.
  • Liaise with contractors on site and site personnel to enable efficient planning of projects
  • Interact with Project Engineers on day to day basis and provide supervision support during construction phase of the project.
  • Ensuring all contract works are in accordance with Contract Management requirements
  • Liaise with plant maintenance / production supervisors for gaining correct isolation for contractors.
Skills & Experience
To be successful in this role you will have the following: -
  • Qualification in an Engineering Field (Civil / Structural / Mechanical)
  • Minimum five years of experience preferably in mining / similar heavy industries involving structural building, crushers, rail mounted yard machines, conveyors, pumps, material handling equipment and process machineries.
  • Your open cut coal mine project supervision experience will be an added advantage to secure this role.
  • Safety focussed team player.
  • Good communication skills including the ability to engage other professionals within the project development area.
  • Current holder of Class C driver's licence.
