Globe 24-7 in partnership with Newcrest Mining, is working together to source experienced and qualified talent to join their Mining Team- Commercial space at their Lihir Gold Operations (LGO).

The Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Business Analyst - Finance, Analysis & Reporting (Brisbane Based) to report directly to the Superintendent - Finance, Analysis and Reporting, based from Newcrest Lihir Gold Corporate Office in Brisbane. You will be expected to provide financial and commercial support to operational areas within Lihir Gold, with a key focus on business planning, cost analysis, forecasting, performance reporting, governance, business improvement and capital management.



Qualifications, Skills and Experience
  • Australian recognised Tertiary Qualification in Bachelor in Commerce specialising in Finance, Accounting or similar.
  • 5+ years' experience in Business Analyst role in Mining, Heavy Industry or Processing Environments is essential.
  • Experience in company wide and departmental ERP systems including SAP and TM1 (Planning and Analytics).
  • Computer proficiency in MS Office Suite.
  • Previous Experience working in a remote location in a developing country is advantageous.
  • Proficient in English with excellent verbal, written communication and public speaking skills.
  • Sound planning, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work under pressure and autonomously .
  • Excellent attention to detail and time management skills to meet deadlines.
  • Strong active listening and interpersonal skills for rapport building, conflict resolution and training
  • Strong in coaching and mentoring.


Mobilisation Requirements:
  • Must live or be prepared to relocate to Brisbane.
  • Willing to travel to site (Lihir Gold in Papua New Guinea) up to four times a year.
  • Ability to provide/obtain valid police clearance
  • Ability to successfully complete a pre-employment medical assessment
