Globe 24-7 in partnership with Newcrest Mining, is working together to source experienced and qualified talent to join their Mining Team- Commercial space at their Lihir Gold Operations (LGO).

The Role

We are seeking a Senior Specialist - Finance Analysis & Reporting (Brisbane Based) to provide strong commercial acumen, leadership, guidance and advice to key business decisions, operational activities and short and long term planning horizons across the operation at both the operational and strategic levels, clearly communicating the impacts, risks and opportunities on future performance.



Qualifications, Skills and Experience
  • Tertiary qualifications in commerce specialising in finance, accounting or similar is essential
  • CPA Certification is desirable
  • Post graduate qualifications in the field of financial management, analysis & reporting will be highly regarded
  • 7 plus years relevant work experience essential
  • Sound planning, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • A high degree of proficiency in MS Office suite essential including experience of MS Excel to complete commercial analysis
  • Proficiency with TM1 Planning & Analytics and SAP is highly desirable
  • Must have the ability to influence the business units and gain support of the operational departments through building strong relationships
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential
  • Strong active listening, collaboration and interpersonal skills
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work autonomously under pressure
  • Excellent attention to detail and time management skills, to meet deadlines and KPIs
  • Proficient in coaching and mentoring
  • Previous experience working in a remote location in a developing country advantageous, but not essential

Mobilisation Requirements:
  • Brisbane based / travel to Lihir on a quarterly basis is required
  • Ability to provide/obtain valid police clearance
  • Ability to successfully complete a pre-employment medical assessment
