Caterpillar's Resource Industries Division is currently seeking a Body Performance Engineer for its Bodies & Buckets Product Value Stream. In this role you will provide technical support for bodies on large mining trucks (LMT), off-highway trucks (OHT), and hard rock vehicle (HRV) bodies in performance, product / process design, and ensure appropriate application fit. You will work closely with go to market (GTM) teams during the quoting process for application fit, product value streams to validate design performance, and provide competitive product assessments. You will continually learn and stay abreast of innovative technology, mentor and coach engineers on key performance attributes and new technologies for buckets and deepen your professional network.

Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
- Own key performance characteristics for LMT, OHT and HRV body designs
- Assess design performance and application fit
- Engage in product performance studies
- Review feasibility and provide concepts for customer requests
- Provide technical support for sales quotes, body sales drawings, and product issue resolution
- Technical assessment of competitive bodies
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in an accredited engineering curriculum
- 7+ years of engineering experience
- 5+ years of engineering experience in body design
Top candidates will also have:
- Strong analytical skills
- Experience with product design and releasing tools
- Experience with New Production Introduction programs
- Experience providing support to current production products and customers to resolve issues quickly with design solution
- Prior experience interacting with customers & dealers
- Prior experience with CPI and other product support processes
- Ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers
- Mining or construction industry experience
- Experience with manufacturing of bodies
