About this role

What will you be responsible for?
  • Support the Senior Analyst of Technical Accounting and Senior Manager of Technical Accounting & Consolidation in analysis of technical accounting topics.
  • Support financial reporting in external reporting requirements to the SEC.
  • Support regional accounting teams in identifying and concluding on operating and technical accounting issues.


Your role will consist of

Here is a snapshot of what your day to day will look like:
  • Prepare technical memorandums detailing accounting conclusions and considerations for use of legal, external auditors, and corporate development.
  • Prepare white papers related to various accounting topics, including but not limited to, ASC 323 Investments - Equity Method and Joint Ventures, ASC 718 Stock Compensation, ASC 606 Revenue Recognition, ASC 815 Derivatives and Hedging, ASC 820 Fair Value, ASC 715 Compensation - Retirement benefits, ASC 470 Debt and ASC 805 Business Combinations.
  • Assist in the coordination of work performed by the external auditors.
  • Prepare internal valuation models for unique financial assets.
  • Prepare financial statement footnote disclosures which have a higher degree of risk and complexity in support of 10Q and 10K production process.
  • Assist in preparation and tie-out of key accounting communications including investor relations materials.
  • Update global accounting policies and ensure consistent application among regional accounting groups.
  • Ensure that accounting systems and controls are adequately detailed to support a Sarbanes-Oxley compliant environment.
  • Assist with the implementation and maintenance of information systems and processes that support effective financial reporting.

Your training, skills, and experience checklist

Here is what we would need to see from you!
  • Master's degree in Accounting preferred.
  • CPA required.
  • 4+ years of public accounting experience required.
  • Solid understanding of US GAAP and financial analysis.
  • Knowledge of mine accounting a plus.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Sophisticated excel skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Experience with SAP Business Planning and Consolidations (BPC) preferred.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative environment.
  • High level of motivation and outspoken diplomacy vital.


Working conditions and location

Where you will be located!
  • The position is located in the Denver corporate office.
  • Position may be required to travel to, and assist other domestic and international sites.
  • Extended hours may be vital during certain times of the year.
