Mount Milligan, located in central British Columbia, is a conventional truck and shovel, open pit copper and gold mine and concentrator, with a 60,000 tpd capacity copper flotation processing plant. Mount Milligan has an estimated mine life of nine years, with proven and probable reserves totaling 959 million pounds copper and 2.4 million ounces gold.

  • Providing technical assistance to mine operations team.
  • Maintain daily, weekly and monthly reporting whilst identifying areas of concerns.
  • Provide technical assistance to the drill & blast team. Maintain blast patterns and ensure reports are kept up to date ensuring compliance of all regulations is met.
  • Assist in project planning, execution and closeout.
  • Monitor scheduling and progress of day to day operations to ensure short and long term plans are consistently met
  • Provide support to mine operations team through construction of TSF, haul roads and pit development.
  • Prepare and develop survey plans and layouts for the survey team at Mt Milligan.

  • A Bachelor of Engineering Mining degree.
  • A graduate in mining or a related field, BSc as a minimum, preferably registered as a P.Eng with APEGBC.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in the mining industry, preferably open pit.
  • Mine design software experience (i.e. MS3D).
  • Have excellent written and verbal communication skills with all levels of the operation.
  • Strong computer skills with the ability to use integrated maintenance management systems.
  • Management of special projects and sub-contractors.
  • Exposure to project coordination and ability to make sound project decisions.
  • Effective leadership to build a strong employee culture.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Good work ethic and a strong attitude towards safety are essential requirements.

  • The role is located at the Mount Milligan Mine, which is approximately 155 kilometers northwest of Prince George, British Columbia.
  • Bus transportation to and from site is provided free of charge from several locations within the region. Employees accessing the site from outside the region are eligible to receive a tax-free travel allowance commensurate with the distance they are required to travel.
  • The ideal candidate for the role will work a rotation of fourteen days on and fourteen days off, 12 hours days.
  • Candidates must be able to maintain high levels of performance for extended shifts.
  • Able to work in close quarters with a dedicated team of professionals.
