Reporting to the Senior Scientist, Adaptive Water Management, the Adaptive Management Coordinator, Water Quality Management is responsible for supporting the implementation of our Water Quality Adaptive Management Plan (AMP), integrating information from a range of scientific subject areas to inform decision making related to mining and water quality. You will work with multi-disciplinary specialists to produce environmental reports on the AMP and communicate progress on responses to emerging issues.

To be successful we require someone with outstanding organization, interpersonal, and communication skills, who is able to effectively collaborate with internal and external partners to identify and resolve issues. Someone who is self-motivated, able to learn new things, and can prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.

You will be a key part of the team ensuring we progress towards sustainable mining in the Elk Valley. Responsibilities:
  • Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures
  • Develop and build relationships with key partners, subject matter specialists, and senior advisors through regular dialogue and coordinated work sessions
  • Coordinate annual and 3-year update AMP report submissions to ensure meeting regulatory and business requirements
  • Assist with schedule, budget, scope changes, and document control for the AMP
  • Support regulatory engagement with regulators and First Nations
  • Track progress on management of water quality objectives in the AMP
  • Compile and maintain documentation of regulatory engagement and internal meetings


Qualifications:
  • Degree or diploma in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or other related field
  • Minimum three years demonstrated ability in environmental management, environmental assessment, or regulatory field
  • Experience preparing permitting applications or environmental reports
  • Knowledge and experience with environmental legislation
  • Outstanding technical writing and editing skills
  • Project management experience in an environmental field would be an asset
  • Strong digital literacy and proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite®
