First Quantum (Ravensthorpe Nickel Operation - RNO) is currently searching for an experienced Maintenance Supervisor - Hydro/Leach to join our team. This role is offered on an 8/6 roster, travel in company time. FIFO from Perth, BIBO from Albany or Esperance, DIDO from other locations.

It is also in one of the world's most beautiful areas, with the Fitzgerald River National Park, 12 Mile Beach and the picturesque historic town of Hopetoun in close proximity to the mine site.

Reporting to the Maintenance Superintendent, you will be responsible for supervision of the shutdown work team, providing the highest quality services in preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, emergency breakdowns and refurbishment work.

The areas this role covers include:

* A Leach circuit consisting of High Pressure Acid Leach Trains which include autoclaves and associated support systems, HP vessels, HP centrifugal and P.D. pumps and pipework, also an Atmospheric Leach circuit with associated centrifugal pumps, pipework and various sized tankage with agitation.

* A Hydro circuit with associated centrifugal pumps, pipework and various sized tankage with agitation, pressure and vacuum filters including associated support systems.

  • Direct management of Maintenance Work Team
  • Promote the development of sound engineering and maintenance practices
  • Maintain high levels of team morale and work ethic
  • Dedicated commitment to health, safety and environmental responsibilities
  • Ensure compliance with Safety and Environmental Management systems, policies and procedures
  • Actively lead by example and contribute to improvements in safety culture and processes to ensure ongoing, practical improvements in safe work practices.
  • Ensure that all safety incidents and hazards are correctly documented and followed up in the required timeframes and of good quality.
  • Ensure Compliance to completion of all pre start checks on mobile equipment/vehicles, welders, lifting equipment, overhead cranes etc.
  • Ensure Shift changes over meetings are held at the start of every shift and provide quality information and direction to the oncoming shift personnel.
  • Provide accurate feedback so that appropriate and corrective action and planning can be implemented
  • Ensure that maintenance objectives are effectively communicated to optimize plant availability
  • Ensure that all critical issues are highlighted and communicated relevant personnel
  • Regularly inspect the work area and work groups to identify defects before they impact on the plant uptime.


Specific requirements you will need:
  • Mechanical trade qualifications with minimum 10 years' experience
  • Prior proven experience in leading and supervising work teams
  • Ability to perform GEHO Pump inspections, troubleshooting and repair.
  • Understanding of Mechanical Seal inspection/repair and system operation.
  • REXA and Mogas repairs and troubleshooting knowledge.
  • Completion of Section 44 ( Appointed Persons)
  • Pronto at the Supervisor Level
  • Ability to read, understand and interpret mechanical drawings
  • Hands on and able to assist Mechanical Technicians when needed
  • Problem solving and analytical skills
