Job Title: Manager of Health & Safety (Underground Mine)

Salary: $145,000-$165,000 + STI (35%) + LTI (Share options) + Company vehicle + 401K + Full Relocation + Housing Assistance

Reporting To: Mine General Manager

The Opportunity: This is a fantastic career opportunity leading Health & Safety on a flag ship mine site for an industry leading company with plenty of avenues for future career progression, you will be managing a team of 10 HSE Professionals across the site.

Our client is looking for a strong, confident Health & Safety leader with experience developing and implanting robust process and systems across Health & Safety, especially when it comes to the training of the current leadership and site team.

This role requires someone who has a strong behavioural based approach to safety and can utilize data to back up their ideas / solutions on site.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Advising site leadership on all matters relating to Health & Safety
  • Developing and implanting the mine site H&S strategy
  • Set the a consistent tone and culture to promote strong H&S performance
  • Development and implementation of strong training program and systems
  • Coaching and mentoring of your H&S team and the mine site leadership
  • Critical risk management


Requirements:

  • Degree educated
  • MSHA experience
  • Underground Mining experience
  • Certified H&S Professional
  • Strong track record in Mining Health & Safety leadership positions
  • Excellent communicator and positive influencer
