As a growing company focused on the Americas, a mid tier gold producer is currently adding to their mining team by electing CSG to source a Mining Superintendent for a FIFO opportunity in Canada.

 

Reporting directly into the Site General Manager, this role is responsible for the ore extraction during a phase of increased production on site in the mid-term future. This individuals efforts will focus primarily on five keys areas being planning, budgeting, staffing, cost containment, and profitability.

 

 

The key skills and qualifications required for this role include:

 

  • Degree qualified in Mining Engineering or similar.
  • Identify options and implement actions to adopt best practices for mine production
  • A certified professional designation in mining
  • Circa 10 years, with at least 3-5 years in a Chief, Mining Superintendent or Management role 
  • Underground experience essential.
  • A sound understanding of mine design and ground control issues.
  • A manager who loves to mention more junior engineers by calling on their previous achievements and successes.
  • Able to be flexible, decisive and use past experiences to make key decisions when required.
  • Effective ability to convey messages in an organized, clear and succinct way.
  • Ability to add to the needs of the key management officials when setting the direction whilst establishing the mid- to long-term planning of the operation.
  • Meet all manpower and equipment needs to aid and exceed production goals, within budget
  • Able to work with key stakeholders, juniors, equipment providers and contractors
  • Act as a member of the management team to develop and achieve the overall strategy and goals of the mine
