Occupational Health Lead Advisor

Salary: Competitive

CSG Talent is partnered with Anglo American Woodsmith Ltd as they look for a Occupational Health Lead Advisor. You will play a key role will contribute to the Occupational Health and Safety of employees across all Woodsmith Project sites, including our headquarters in Scarborough, North Yorkshire. You will be the lead managerial person for the Occupational Health department across all sites.

Anglo American Woodsmith Ltd is constructing a state-of-the-art underground mine to enable the extraction of Polyhalite - a unique multi-nutrient fertilizer - along with the necessary infrastructure both above and below ground that will be required for transport, processing and distribution. This exciting and innovative project is entering the next phase of development having recently been bought by Anglo American Woodsmith Ltd, a move which secures its future. The project has created a vast amount of jobs in the region and they are looking to recruit for a range of positions as the project moves forward.

Job description

Key responsibilities
 

  • Contribute to the development of an integrated Group Occupational Health and Hygiene Management Programme.
  • Provide advice and support with the implementation of occupation health and hygiene strategy, policies and programmes.
  • Recognise and evaluate those conditions at operations that may arise in or from the workplace, which may cause illness or adverse Health effects to persons.
  • Design, coordinate and manage comprehensive Occupational Hygiene programmes based on the findings of evaluations.
  • Conduct audits and inspections of operations to ensure that they comply with standards, guidelines and specifications.
  • Support the implementation of Occupational Health and Hygiene management systems and procedures at sites.
  • Provide comprehensive advice and guidance to line managers on sickness, absence and rehabilitation issues.
  • Work closely with HR and the line manager to ensure successful rehabilitation case management of individuals including restrictions of duties.
  • Assessment through health screening and statutory health surveillance that employees are fit for work.
  • Maintain and create policies and procedures when required.

 


Skills and experience

 

 

 

  • Experience/skills in developing Occupational Health major strategies/interventions on major hazardous industries is essential.

 

 

  • Occupational Health Qualification.
  • Exceptional communication and relationship building skills coupled with the ability to lead and influence S&H professionals and senior managers.
  • Qualified RGN advantageous, preferably with formal qualifications in Occupational Health.
  • NMC1 registered advantageous.
  • A can do, hands on approach, able to work well under pressure and prioritise workload to meet project needs.

Resolution House office, Scarborough
