Gold Fields - Agnew is currently seeking a Technician: Dewatering to join their Underground Maintenance department.

Reporting to the Electrical Leading hand, you will be responsible for assisting the mining maintenance team to safely and efficiently dewater the underground mine. This will be achieved by managing, installing, repairing, and monitoring dewatering infrastructure including pumps (diesel and electric), poly pipeline following policies and procedures, along with statutory regulations.

This role is offered on an 8 day on 6 days off roster and Is FIFO from Perth.

Key responsibilities will include:
  • Always act in a manner that seeks to enhance the safety culture and performance of GFA and ensures that the Vital Behaviours are adhered to at all times
  • Carry out mechanical repairs, servicing or modifications to equipment in such a way as to maximise machine mechanical availability and increase operating efficiency.
  • Carry out preventative maintenance of underground dewatering system.
  • Carry out fault-finding, diagnosis and repair of damaged pumps, and all dewatering infrastructure.
  • Assist in moving and installing pumps as required.
  • Maintain grouting equipment.
  • Assist the Maintenance Planner, as required, with any parts required or information leading up to the repair of any equipment.
  • Carry out the regular review of maintenance processes and investigate, assess and where appropriate, propose modern technology.
  • Prioritise resource and coordinate all unplanned work that arises over the course of the week.


Key factors to your success include:
  • Possess a Mechanical Trade Qualification, e.g. Fitter
  • Minimum 2 years Underground experience
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in mechanical maintenance of underground dewatering equipment
  • Valid WA C Class Driver's License
  • Basic Computer skills in Microsoft Office Programs, AMT, SAP would be an advantage
  • Knowledge and application of relevant statutory obligations
  • Crane, Dogging, EWP and Forklift tickets would be advantageous to your application
