Our client is looking for a motivated and ambitious individual to join our technical services team as an underground surveyor for a six-month contract. Reporting to the Senior Mine Engineer, the successful candidate will possess a good understanding of underground survey principles and producing survey layouts for mining purposes. The underground surveyor will also be involved in underground mine ventilation and monitoring ground control instruments installation and collecting geotechnical data as required.
Responsibilities
:
▪ Responsible for conducting underground surveys including installation of wall bars and survey controls, mark up of underground development and production lines, and underground CMS/borehole CMS.
▪ Design and provide survey layouts.
▪ Maintain underground MOSS survey systems.
▪ A good understanding of principles of mine ventilation and gases in mines.
▪ Responsible for ground control instrument installation and collection of geotechnical data as required.
▪ Other duties as may be required.
Qualifications
:
•0-3 years of relevant survey experience.
•Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD, MOSS survey package, and Microsoft Office suites.
•Able to read engineering drawings and maps.
•Ability to create maps, CSV files and print layouts.
•Good understanding of underground mine workings.
•Experience in driving light vehicle in underground mine.
