The Control, Automation & Electrical Group is a Hatch global practice providing engineering design expertise to Hatch's metals and minerals, infrastructure and energy business units. Our capability spans through the whole project lifecycle comprising; scoping, conceptual design, pre-feasibility and feasibility studies, basic and detailed engineering, construction, commissioning, sustaining capital works and project management.

Our team in Perth is currently seeking applications from Control & Automation Engineers to assist with a continued growth in workload in the region.

Candidates are sought with up to 5 years’ experience in the specification, design, installation and optimisation of instrumentation, control systems and supporting infrastructure in industrial environments.

You will be involved in preparing discipline specifications, detailed design, studies, calculations and system development, to support feasibility studies, detailed engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning phases.

We are ideally looking for individuals who possess the following qualifications and skills:

  • A bachelor degree in electrical, electronic and communications engineering and working towards obtaining your CPEng, with a demonstrated knowledge and experience in the selection of field instrumentation and design of industrial control and automation systems .
  • Excellent attitude towards safety and a demonstrated ability to comply with and uphold a safe work environment.
  • Experience in the metallurgical, mineral processing, and/or energy sectors.
  • Have current knowledge of industry or regulatory standards and study criteria pertinent to instrumentation and control systems engineering ensuring compliance of design work with all relevant engineering standards and internal procedures.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders on a technical and interpersonal level.
  • In addition to the above, experience engineering hazardous area environments and functional process safety and/or networking and shared computing systems would be well regarded.
