About the role

We are looking for a Production Supervisor to lead and develop a high performing team while fostering a strong safety culture and building capabilities.

This role is a great opportunity to learn and develop your career reporting to the Superintendent, within the Operations team, you will be:

  • Monitoring working practices and adherence to safety procedures to ensure safety of employees. Complying with Rio Tinto and Statutory Safety requirements.
  • Responsible for directing production employees and operations in accordance with the production plan and business needs to achieve quality and quantities of finished goods necessary to meet customer demands.
  • Providing leadership through team building, planning, and setting key deliverables.
  • Interfacing with planners and fellow Supervisors to assist in continual improvement.
  • Ensuring work is completed in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement and soliciting input from team members.
  • Supervising activities on night shift and weekends.


About you

To succeed in this role, you will have:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent, but more advanced degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in refinery operations/maintenance or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience supervising a team.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Experience in a unionized environment.
  • Excellent computer skills, knowledge of MS Office, Excel & SAP


It will also be beneficial if you have:
  • Knowledge of MSHA regulations.
  • Knowledge of refinery equipment, subsystems, lubrication properties and equipment troubleshooting.
