Reporting to the Infrastructure & Shared Resources Manager, the Maintenance Superintendent, Property Infrastructure directs and administers the operation & maintenance of infrastructure assets, janitorial department, powered air purifying respirator (PAPR) facility & labour resources for Trail Operations.

Responsibilities:
• Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures
• Ensure the safe and efficient operation of the Property Infrastructure Team by coordinating and directing Group Leader and related personnel
• Act as the liaison between the Messer Air Separation Unit and Trail Operations ensuring safe and efficient operation
• Coordinate jobs with customers and other service and construction supervision, prepare daily and weekly work schedules, and assign work utilizing planning and scheduling according to established or emergency priorities
• Coordinate the inspection, maintenance and repair of area assets according to preventive maintenance schedules and government and Teck Metals regulations and standards
• Ensure new equipment is properly identified; assess existing equipment to determine its capability to meet acceptable standards and recommends suitable replacements
• Audit work in progress to ensure that quality and quantity meets required standards, codes and regulations
• Contribute to cost control by providing input to budgets by monitoring and reporting on expenditures and by identifying opportunities to continually reduce costs
• Monitor and audit performance including safety, hygiene, environmental, reliability, housekeeping and inventory to ensure deviations are addressed appropriately
• Assist in Industrial Relations activities by supporting conflict resolution and where necessary responding to serious personnel problems
• Participate in the selection, training and evaluation of tradesmen and apprentices
• Performs other related duties as required

Qualifications:
• Interprovincial Journeyman Certificate or a Mechanical Engineering Degree or other related degree
• Minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience as a group leader or equivalent
• Excellent verbal communication skills and the ability to plan and organize resources and activities
• Ability to find effective solutions to problems and adjust quickly to changing priorities
• Ability to see broad perspective of both short range and long range maintenance issues
