Purpose
Leadership, direct (manage), coordinate, control and evaluates preventive and corrective maintenance activities of the Generators, Lighting Towers, Mobil Air Compressor and Stationary Engine fleet, to comply with the optimal execution of the plan and maintenance schedule, contributing to achieving the productivity, reliability and availability of the fleet.
Knowing and respecting the policies of Prevention of Losses and the Environment.

Key Accountabilities and Challenges
  •  Operate within and observe all relevant and applicable laws of Panama.
  •  Through personal leadership and setting clear expectations maintain an emphasis on safety, environmental responsibility and operational responsibility.
  •  Validate, monitor and manage the preventative maintenance program and conduct audits of program to ensure conformance.
  •  Prioritising scheduled and un-scheduled workflow ensuring decisions are made in the best interest of the company.
  •  Accurately supervising quality work, timeliness and effective use of maintenance resources.
  •  Ensuring administrative tasks and required documentation is completed clearly and concisely within established timeliness to standard companies.
  •  Manage human resources under their responsibility and identify skill gaps and develop.

  •  Provide coaching and mentoring to human resources under their responsibility to enable.

  •  Identify and satisfy the needs of the internal customer.
  •  Develop and implement standard procedures of safe work for critical tasks (SOP, Standard Operating Procedures) and actively participate in HSE initiatives.
  •  Promoting a culture to ensure full compliance with all applicable safety standards.
  •  Lead the maintenance team to ensure the correct operation of the Generators, Lighting Towers, Mobil Air Compressor and Stationary Engine fleet, ensuring the required availability and reliability.
  •  Prioritise work orders and provide daily work plan to maintenance staff and ensure all necessary work permits are obtained.
  •  Develop, implement and execute a preventive maintenance plan and maintain associated records.
  •  Constantly assess operations of the equipments and suggest areas for improvements to maximise production.
  •  Assist with the planning of scheduled shut down, rebuild and major maintenance activities through the use of a computerized maintenance management system.
  •  Compile all required reporting including daily, weekly and monthly monitoring reports.
  •  Enforce housekeeping standards in all designated work areas.
  •  Contribute to the risk identification of the workshop.
  •  Work with Human Resources to identify training opportunities to develop workers and improve the quality of the maintenance service
  •  Promote a positive employee environment ensuring a continuation of a solid working relationship with all employees.
  •  Implement FQM Way culture across the team - \"Smarter, Bolder, Driven, Together\".
  •  Liaising with peers and colleagues to enable the above.
  •  Know and comply with the Safety and Occupational Health Regulations in Mining, Internal Work Rules, Code of Ethics and Conduct, Safety Manual.
  •  The responsibilities described above are the main responsibilities of the position. The position also develops other activities that are not included in this document and the immediate supervisor is in charge of transmitting them.


Skills, Knowledge & Experience
 Education

 A Mechanical Electrical Engineering or related Trade Certificate
Skills
  •  Strong leadership, motivational, communication, and interpersonal skills.

  •  Strong cognitive and analytical skills to problem solve.
  •  Knowledge and technical skills in maintenance, repair and diagnosis of Generators to mining industry.
  •  Knowledge and skills in the use technology tools for diagnosis and troubleshooting of the equipment.
  •  Knowledge of working planning and scheduling, equipment availability and
  • preventative maintenance processes.
  •  Skill to understand and analyse maintenance performance indicators (KPIs).
  •  Knowledge in management of information systems (ERP).
  •  Ability to work in teams and conflict management.
  •  Ability to identify risks and implement effective management strategies.
  •  Leadership, skill to motivate and mentor work crew members to achieve results.
  •  Good verbal and written communication skills and able to analyze data and provide clear and accurate reports in both an upward and downward direction.
  •  Computer fluency is a must.
  •  Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment.
  •  Driver's license



Experience
  •  10+ years previous experience in a leadership/supervisor role within Generators Equipment
  •  Knowledge of JD Edwards or other enterprise systems
  •  Experienced in the use of maintenance management systems.



Language
Fluency in Spanish is required with English language competency highly regarded.

Working Conditions
Cobre Panama is a remote site. The position is offered as FIFO
Work hours and rosters may vary as required by the business.
