Summary
The person selected for this position will work with teams on projects involving environmental monitoring and problem-solving in the air-quality field. This position presents the opportunity to grow with the air emissions sampling business in one of the leading consulting firms in the upper Midwest and a firm that has been named as a “Best Engineering Firm to Work for” by the Environmental Business Journal and Civil Engineering News. Work will include conducting air-emissions sampling and data collection at industrial facilities, monitoring equipment calibration and maintenance, laboratory analysis and data reduction, and assistance with report preparation for submittal to clients and regulatory authorities. Work will include both travel to and work at client facilities and completion of responsibilities in the Minneapolis office.

NOTE: Applicants must be able to work in locations that feature rough terrain typical of construction sites and to enter and work within facilities that include limited accessibility, moving machinery, high temperature and pressure process equipment, and other conditions typical of large industrial facilities. Job assignments may involve work on waste disposal sites and sites requiring cleanup of hazardous materials. An OSHA-mandated physical exam may be required; safety training will be provided.

Minimum Qualifications
- Associate degree in sciences
- Intrinsic motivation with an emphasis on client service and interest in growing a career in air quality sampling
- Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with project team members, regulators, and clients
- Strong technical and problem-solving skills, including attention to detail, accuracy, and completeness
- Strong data analysis skills, including the use of spreadsheets
- Flexible working style and willingness to occasionally modify personal schedules as required to meet project deadlines and/or client needs
- Willingness to regularly travel up to 50 percent of the time with the potential for greater levels of periodic travel to meet client needs
- Mechanical aptitude
- Ability to lift and carry equipment weighing approximately 70 pounds and work at heights
- Acceptable driving record
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or scientific discipline
- Working knowledge of air-emission test methods
- Experience with air-emission sampling equipment and conducting air-emission stack tests
- Experience evaluating environmental data and preparing reports
- Experience in laboratory chemistry
