Summary
The person in this position will manage and perform engineering tasks for projects including industrial pipeline, civil works, coal-ash management, site development and remediation, storm water management, and civil grading. Qualified individuals will have strong engineering design experience related to heavy industrial industries including power, oil, and gas. In addition, this person will build the civil engineering practice, helping support existing clients while building new client relationships in Michigan. A Responsibilities may also include training and mentoring new employees. The work may involve short-term, out-of-town assignments.

NOTE: Some work locations will feature the rough terrain typical of construction sites or require lifting or moving field testing equipment. Safety training will be provided prior to being given work assignments on these sites. Applicants may be asked to participate in a drug screening program at the request of specific clients.

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering
- 8-10 years of related work experience
- Professional Engineer (PE) certification, or ability to obtain within one year
- Familiarity with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office software
- Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
- Willingness to work in a project team environment that encourages self-initiative
- Proven project management experience
- Flexible working style as required to meet deadlines and/or client needs
- Acceptable driving record
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in civil engineering
- 15 years of relevant work experience
- Knowledge of Michigan’s markets and regulations
- Experience working in consulting engineering
- Strong relationships with clients and the ability to develop or foster ongoing relationships and maintain a high level of client service
