Overview / Responsibilities

Wood Environment & Infrastructure Solutions is currently seeking a Field Construction Technician to join our team in Sudbury, ON. This positon is regular part-time or fulltime based on project needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Reporting directly to job specific task and project managers in provision of geotechnical & materials technical support
  • Organizing logistics for material testing and geotechnical field programs with emphasis on the appropriate management and application
  • Construction supervision and materials testing and inspection
  • Organizing and maintaining field equipment, as required
  • Material / Geotechnical data collection and management, as required
  • Work in the field and laboratory settings
  • Field work in local and remote locations
  • Follow all safety: i.e., Stop unsafe work, follow SHE Program and maintain a daily log that includes safety work, provide weekly contractor compliance reports to the Client Project Manager or designate / ensure project specific safety plans are adequate for the safe performance of the work, audit for compliance and recommend follow up actions, as required
  • Other duties as assigned to you from time to time


Skills / Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 to 5 years' experience providing practical geotechnical and materials services in construction projects; either industrial, commercial and/or mining related projects
  • Good organizational skills with initiative and can handle challenges in the field
  • Ability to prioritize and multiple tasks
  • Customer focused orientation, ability to provide quality service to internal and external clients
  • Must have a valid drivers license
