Quality Inspector

This position is based out of our office in Rochester, NV, and reports to our Site Quality Manager and functionally to the Construction Management. It is responsible for the quality assurance of work performed by the construction Trade Contractors.

SNC-Lavalin Inc. is providing engineering, procurement and overall project management services for the Rochester POA11 Project in Nevada, US by Coeur Rochester, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Coeur Mining, Inc.

As part of our Quality management services, we will integrate the engineering performed by various service providers under one set of specifications, procurement policies, standards, systems and procedures.

The project is anticipated to include a 20M T/year crushing plant with primary and secondary crushing circuits, as well as a high-pressure grinding roll (HPGR) circuit, a 13,750 gpm Merrill-Crowe process plant, a new substation with power distribution and new heap leach pad.

How will you contribute to the team?
  • Inspects and approves incoming materials by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, and rejecting and returning unacceptable materials
  • Inspects in-process production by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, communicating required adjustments to production supervisor
  • Provide quality system training and development programs for staff and crew
  • Approves finished products by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, returning products for re-work, and confirming re-work
  • Develop and implement a quality management plan
  • Documents inspection results by completing reports and logs, summarizes re-work and waste, and inputs data into quality database
  • Keeps measurement equipment operating by following operating instructions and calibration requirements, and calling for repairs
  • Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures, and complying with legal regulations
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and reading technical publications
  • Ensure that performance and quality of product conforms to established company and regulatory standards


What will you contribute?
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in the construction industry
  • Engineering degree or technical diploma
  • Experience in development of Quality and Inspection and Test Plans
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical, organizational and time management skills
  • CWI an asset
