Title: AHS Mine Controller - 12-month fixed term

Work location: Perth based (Solomon HIVE)

Roster: 4 days, 4 nights and 8 days off

Critical to the success of Fortescue's operation of Autonomous Haulage System (AHS) trucks, this role is accountable for the effective utilization of the Autonomous Haulage Fleet using Command Minestar.

Key accountabilities will include:

  • Execution of the 24-hour mine plan utilising priorities to achieve spatial compliance blend and tonnes
  • Best practice documents are adhered to at all times.
  • Configure the real-time system to monitor and record operation of equipment in the different mining areas.
  • Minimize hang time on dig machines and queued time on trucks to achieve KPIs
  • Ensure the integrity of the mine model (road network, locations, equipment etc.) report any mine model issues to the Minestar builder.
  • Continuously improve the Minestar control system performance to optimize equipment assignments
  • Maximize equipment productivity and efficiency
  • Minimize shift delays and normal maintenance delays
  • Maintain and improve ability to track and assign material from pit and ensure it is tipped at correct locations
  • Evaluate continuously the data accuracy and integrity in the system
  • Understand the correct procedures in case of critical failures in the system
  • Provide input for system enhancements and upgrades
  • Attend periodic training
  • Manage two-way radio traffic
  • Liaise with varying stakeholders to ensure production is met

Qualifications and skills required:

  • Advanced computer literacy skills and a passion for Innovation and Technology
  • The ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to multitask
  • Ability to forward plan
  • The ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Excellent communication skills
  • A great attitude
  • Motivated self-starter
  • 2 years in an open cut mining environment would be advantageous
  • Proficiency of Fleet Management System is advantageous but not essential
