PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assists in the evaluation of the condition and market value of repossessed and lease return units. Uses this analysis of the equipment to sell to end users or dealers for the best commercially reasonable price in the current market. Selling of equipment can require the negotiation of price and items such as repairs, freight, extended coverage, and financing.
  • Analyzes inspection reports conducted by Dealers and authorize necessary repairs.
  • Visits Caterpillar dealers and customers to develop relationships that will enhance sales of used equipment.
  • Maintains CFSC used equipment sale documents critical to repossession and bankruptcy situations.
  • Works toward quality by participating in 6 Sigma and equivalent processes. Due to the large number of both internal and external customers relying on information provided by the Remarketing Department, must pay close attention to the details of the information/documents, which were requested of the Remarketing Department.
  • Participates in accomplishment of continuous improvement objectives for the department. Progress toward accomplishment of these is measured through maintenance of necessary measurements and analysis of associated data. Participates in the identification of problem areas and development of resolutions to address them.
  • Understands the Harassment policy of the company and is responsible for its application in all aspects of employment.

    JOB REQUIREMENTS:

    SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND KNOWLEDGE:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of and the ability to apply math computation skills including basic addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • Knowledge of the used equipment marketplace.
  • Demonstrated ability to read/analyze various business reports pertaining to the sale of Caterpillar equipment.
  • Knowledge of Caterpillar products and marketing strategies.
  • Knowledge of how the economy impacts business.
  • Ability to handle several complicated problems/transactions simultaneously.
  • Ability to pay close attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of the market values on construction, mining, ancillary equipment brands.
  • Knowledge of the used equipment market and the demand for Caterpillar and other brand name equipment throughout the coverage area.
  • Knowledge of and the ability to make sound decisions when dealing with changing market values and negotiating with customers and dealers on a daily basis.
  • Ability to drive a car or adequately arrange for transportation to and from dealerships, customer sites, etc.
  • Ability to travel internationally as required.
  • Advance Level of English

    EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: A 4-year college or university degree in any business discipline and a minimum of 2 years exempt experience in credit, collections, sales, marketing and/or remarketing is recommended. Multi-lingual skills may be required. Equivalent experience may be substituted for education.
