Senior Reliability Engineer

Work location: Christmas Creek

Roster: 8:6 days only

Fortescue is seeking a suitability qualified and experienced Senior Reliability Engineer to work at our Christmas Creek Processing Plant on a FIFO 8/6 roster. Your role is to reports to the OPF Engineering & Reliability Superintendent and is responsible for leading and mentoring a team of engineers to develop, implement and sustain the plant reliability improvement strategy and systems. This will also include delivering reliability improvement projects, conducting root cause analyses and managing other reliability improvement related actions.

Key accountabilities will include:

  • Develop, implement and sustain the plant reliability improvement strategy and supporting systems
  • Prioritisation of engineering & reliability improvement projects and work for the wider engineering members reporting to senior
  • Clear and timely identification of equipment downtime through reliability data analysis processes
  • Review, monitor and evaluate the reliability of all OPF fixed plant equipment
  • Develop and ensure adherence to the RCA and 5-WHY investigation initiation process
  • Adhering to and improving the overall annual plant reliability performance metrics and KPI's
  • Ensure actions are taken to eliminate the cause of failures in order to prevent recurrence and corrective actions are appropriate
  • Maintain KPI's to provide up to date weekly monthly reporting to management and other stakeholders
  • Ensure flash reports are distributed for the relevant events

Qualifications and skills required:

  • Minimum 5 years experience with heavy industry experience preferably in Fixed Plant Ore Processing
  • University Engineering Qualification (Mechanical)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Root Cause Analysis
  • Excellent planning and logistics skills
  • Proficient user of Microsoft Office and SAP
  • Change & Maintenance Management
  • Experience working with data visualization software e.g. Tableau
  • Complex problem solving
  • Materials handling equipment improvements
  • Budget management
