Job Description:

Our client is looking for a Project Control Manager who will be responsible for the overall management of project controls and for planning, cost control, creation of orders and management of project payments, management of documentation flow, risk management and weekly and monthly reporting.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that all planning, scheduling and risk analysis work and output are in accordance with best practice standards, corporate governance, policies, processes, systems, and controls implemented within the company
  • Responsible for overall management of, and accountability for, the scheduling, planning, controlling, monitoring, and tracking functions on the project
  • Prepare detailed work breakdown structure (WBS), tracking schedules, bar charts, network diagrams, resource loading graphs, critical path analyses, earned value management, schedule risk calculations for the project
  • Review bid milestones and overall completion timetables in conjunction with the project scope, and identify any anomalies or inconsistencies on all consultants’ and contractors’ schedules
  • Initiate and implement new business procedures compatible with best practice
  • Lead and direct the costing and accounting team so that they are motivated and have access to the required resources to meet the work objectives set for them
  • Responsible for scope variations and change management

Requirements: Qualification and Skill

  • Engineering Degree (Mechanical, Electrical, or equivalent)
  • Minimum three (5) years’ tertiary qualification, relevant degree or diploma in Engineering, Construction or Project Management, supported by a minimum of three to five (3–5) years’ relevant postgraduate experience in a managerial position, and eight to ten (8–10) years’ experience in a project controls management capacity in a multidisciplinary project environment
  • Thorough and detailed cost and planning expertise and experience working in an Engineering, Procurement and Construction Management (EPCM), and construction environment on large and complex mining projects, using project management experience in line with PMP requirements, ideally gained across African countries
  • Good knowledge of engineering concepts
