Role Details

Gold Fields - Granny Smith is currently seeking a Technician: Electrical (Auto) to join the Mining Maintenance department.

Reporting to the Supervisor: Underground Maintenance, you will be responsible for providing high-quality maintenance and auto-electrical services on a wide variety of heavy equipment as used in the mining operations.

This role is offered on an 8 days on 6 days off, 7 nights on 7 nights off roster and is Fly in Fly Out from Perth.

Key responsibilities will include:
  • Always act in a manner that seeks to enhance the safety culture and performance of Gold Fields and ensures that the Vital Behaviours are always adhered to.
  • Repair, service and maintain electrical and electronic systems for underground mobile plant used in mining operations. Heavy equipment includes Eprioc MT65 trucks, Caterpillar Underground loaders, Sandvik development, and production drills.
  • Maintenance, service of tele remote loader systems, set-up of teleremote stope installations
  • Demonstrate full compliance with the OHS and Environmental Management System standards by assisting with the implementation and participating in initiatives, regular meetings, investigations, and training.
  • Participating in and contributing to audits in the maintenance and production facilities.
  • Meet maintenance budget targets by scheduled inspections, servicing, adjustments, troubleshooting, and timely repairs.
  • Providing accurate maintenance knowledge and practical application to minimise downtime and potential loss of production.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of all task instructions and procedures. Ensure procedures are adhered to when carrying out maintenance tasks, assisting colleagues to do the same.
  • Maintain a high standard of housekeeping throughout workshops to ensure a safe work environment and effectively manage risks
  • Maximise asset value through effective utilisation, care, and security of maintenance equipment and tools with due consideration of safety and environmental issues.

Key factors to your success include:
  • Recognised Auto Electrical Trade Qualification is essential
  • Certificate II in Automotive Mechanical (Air conditioning)
  • RCT tele remote training and experience
  • Experience with Eprioc MT65 Trucks, Sandvik Development drills essential
  • Crane, Dogging, EWP and Forklift Tickets would be highly regarded
