Role Details

Gold Fields - Agnew is currently seeking a Geologist : Mining to join their Geology department. This role is offered on an 8 days on 6 days off, 7 nights on 7 days off roster and is Fly in Fly out from Perth.

Reporting to the Senior Mine Geologist will be responsible for providing quality mine geology services and working collaboratively with the broader Mining Team to maximise return from the operation.

Key responsibilities will include:
  • Always act in a manner that seeks to enhance the safety culture and performance of Agnew and ensures that the Vital Behaviours are adhered to at all times
  • Assist with diamond core logging of UG grade control and exploration programs
  • Assist the Mining Team in maximising ore recovery and minimising dilution
  • Collecting and analyzing underground grade control data (face mapping, face sampling, core logging) in preparation for block modelling
  • Utilise site systems and QA/QC protocols to ensure the quality and integrity of data
  • Contribute to geological interpretation, grade control models, mine definition models and reports to ensure accuracy of interpretation and delivery of quality information and data
  • Contribute to the delineation, extension and discovery of Reserves
  • Enable the business to make sound decisions through the submission and implementation of grade control and reserve definition drilling programs
  • Contribute to and actively participate in Environmental Health and Safety initiatives


Key factors to your success include;
  • Degree in Geology or a related discipline
  • Up to 2 years mining industry experience - preferably gold - with exposure to mine geology, grade control practices and reserve/stope definition drilling
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite, Leapfrog and Datamine geological modelling software package
  • Possess a current WA driver's license
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills
