The Role: Emergency Resource Services Coordinator (Narrabri, NSW)
The role of the Emergency Resource Services (ERS) Coordinator is to maintain, supervise, monitor and review the mines emergency and compliance procedures forming part of mining operations at the mine. This is achieved through implementation of standards and management plans at the operation. These standards are to monitor that mine emergency design, processes and practices are of the highest standard from both a safety and operational perspective. The purpose of this role is to support the Operations Manager at the Narrabri Underground Mine.

To be successful in the role you will:
  • Maintain, improve and implement emergency management systems for surface and underground operations. This includes improved standards around infrastructure and training for self-escape, Firefighting, First aid and other emergency response strategies.
  • Coordinate Mines Rescue brigade's members and maintain compliance
  • Coordinate Fire team's members and maintain compliance
  • Act as the liaison between the company and industry and community emergency service providers
  • Proactively communicate, monitor, advise and report on the improvement and compliance towards WHS responsibilities
  • Work with peers from the functions and operations to resolve resourcing and scheduling issues to deliver optimal overall production and engage functional support when necessary.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve the company's compliance position

The successful applicant will possess the following qualifications, experience and qualities:
  • Proven track record in operational management of a modern Underground environment.
  • Worked within a multi-discipline environment where priority setting is a recognised responsibility.
  • Methodical, accurate and timely work ethic.
  • Preferable to have Deputy qualification and hold Fire officer's qualification
