About the role

RT Iron Ore has launched portside trading business through a new WOFE in China and we are looking for a Sales Analyst Port Sales Iron Ore), to support our new adventure!

This role will support the sales specialists in developing and executing our end to end portside sales and marketing activities.

Reporting to the Specialist Port Sales, you will Support and implement the portside trading marketing strategy within the relevant market area

  • Support Sales specialists & broader Marketing team to provide market insight and help to develop market entry strategy
  • Assist in creating potential customer engagement plan, and build up customers relationship
  • Manage assigned customer relationships and support sales contract matters as needed
  • Explore and identify potential opportunities in conjunction with product sales for a potential sales volume with new and existing customers.
  • Assist Sales & Marketing team to develop marketing plan and analyse targeted SME mills segment
  • Identify the needs of current and potential customers in each relevant market area,
  • Take part in negotiating commercial terms and price within the authority scope of this role and sign sales contracts as needed
  • Report on customers contract performance,
  • Facilitate reliable customer service and resolve issues promptly and effectively, particularly with respect to contract settlement
  • Build and maintain an effective relationship with ports for marketing and logistic purpose
  • Provide and interpret the market data / intelligence for management

About you

To be successfully considered for this role, you will have:
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications
  • At least 1 year of commercial experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Can-do attitude and a self-starter
  • Strong command of English language, verbal and written.
  • Strong personality and communication skill to build up relationship with customers
  • Can travel extensively up to 75% of working time

It will also be beneficial if you have:
  • Understanding of Steel Industry, mining and/or international shipping industry
  • Experience in commodity industry and cargo/scheduling handling

You will be based in our office in Shanghai.
