About this role

What will you be responsible for?
  • Provide BPC System functional and business process support for planning applications.
  • Support Corporate Budget planning process, including communication and support for corporate functions.
  • Support Scenario Planning efforts, including engagement with regional teams, data consolidation and financial modeling.
  • Maintain and further improve BPC Systems functionality for a more simplified and streamlined planning process.
  • Lead continuous improvement projects to drive system and process efficiency.
  • Effectively collaborate with corporate and global business planning, mine engineering, projects and exploration teams.
  • Analyze and report forecast/budget information.


Your role will consist of

Here is a snapshot of what your day to day will look like:
  • We lead the consolidation process and ensure the timely and accurate reporting of the Corporate Budget.
  • Support the delivery of Scenario Planning process to lead regions in developing a range of options to proactively lead Newmont's portfolio plans by performing detailed analysis of portfolio scenarios and providing summary insights.
  • We guide development of specialized tools to enable high quality and efficient strategic planning, including the MIS submission tool and the portfolio financial model.
  • We develop and maintain within the group specialist solid understanding of planning and reporting systems as related to data management, system processes, and consolidation structure while taking lead on related continuous improvement projects.
  • We build and maintain sophisticated spreadsheets, reports, or other metric-driven tools in an effort to drive continuous improvement and meet business reporting needs
  • We design, coordinate, and execute projects to analyze value creation opportunities.
  • We coordinate and analyze the data and assumptions that drive forecast/plan results.
  • Perform conventional planning practices including researching and analyzing trends.
  • We communicate and support the forecast/planning process as well as analytical results effectively in both verbal and written form to Planning leadership and other functional teams.
  • Lead the on-boarding and BPC training process for new Planning personnel.
  • We assist in managing junior staff and consultants on various projects.

Your training, skills, and experience checklist

Here is what we would need to see from you!
  • Undergraduate degree required (preferably Accounting or Finance; Engineering or related field).
  • 5-7 years' business analytics / mining ops experience (preferably in mining or mineral extraction-related industry).
  • 5-7 years' systems experience (preferably BPC or other multifaceted systems with desired system development experience including knowledge in database script languages).
  • Strong analytic and synthesis skills; strong understanding of financial data and solid application of accounting principles.
  • Strong MS Excel skills, including sophisticated financial modeling and other tool's development.
  • Requires strong acuity in accounting, business and planning concepts and methodologies including corporate accounting and consolidation.
  • Ability to communicate and present information required - translate financial and data driven information into presentations.


Working Conditions

  • The position is located in the Denver corporate office.
  • Position may be required to travel to, and assist, other domestic and international sites.


The salary range offered for this role is $ 83,600 to 109,725 . The salary range is tied to the Colorado market for jobs performed in Colorado. The salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, training, and/or experience. The salary offer will not be based on a candidate's salary history at other jobs, and by law, Newmont will not seek information about salary history, and candidates should not share such information with Newmont.

This role will be eligible for participation in a discretionary annual bonus program, pursuant to which an employee may be awarded a percentage of their salary based on the company's performance and their own individual performance.
