Gold Fields - Granny Smith is currently seeking a Geologist: Exploration to join their Geology Department.

Reporting to the Senior Geologist: Exploration, you will be part of a team responsible for target generation and the execution of exploration programs designed to discover new gold deposits on the company's large and highly prospective tenement package.

This role is offered on an 8 days on 6 days off Fly in Fly out roster from Perth.

Key responsibilities will include:
  • Always act in a manner that seeks to enhance the safety culture and performance of Gold Fields and ensures that the Vital Behaviours are adhered to at all times.
  • Fieldwork component including working remotely and independently to ensure drill programs are completed efficiently and effectively.
  • Daily liaising with drill contractor's, tracking of drilling progress, and sample dispatch.
  • Comprehensive geological and structural logging of Diamond Core and RC/AC chips.
  • Sample selection for analysis; QAQC planning and evaluation.
  • Working with geological and geophysical datasets to assist in the interpretation of drilling results.
  • Contribute to the definition, implementation, and monitoring of short, medium, and long-term exploration programs to extend the Life of Mine (LOM) and increase reserves.
  • Contribute to business performance through high quality interpretation of geo-scientific data and subsequent development of predictive models for ongoing exploration investment
  • Assist in the development, implementation, and monitoring of the adherence to systems to ensure application of all critical geology mapping, reporting, and data acquisition as well as storage and retrieval systems


Key factors to your success include;
  • Completion of BSc Degree in Geology (Honours preferred)
  • 1 - 3 years' gold experience with exposure to early and later stage exploration
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite and relevant mining software - ArcGIS and Leapfrog - highly regarded
  • Excellent work ethic and safety focus
  • Be self-driven and motivated to learn new skills and develop yourself as a professional geologist.
  • Valid Driver's License (Manual) is essential
