Globe 24-7 in partnership with Newcrest Mining, is working together to source experienced and qualified talent to join their Mining Team- Mobile Fleet Maintenance at their Lihir Gold Operations (LGO).

The Role

We are seeking an expatriate Technical Specialist - Fleet Maintenance Reliability. You will provide technical expertise and leadership in the application of reliability engineering principles and methodologies in order to promote cost effective maintenance practices and predictable equipment performance and availability.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience
  • Tertiary Qualifications in Mechanical Engineering and/or Trade Qualification with demonstrated engineering capabilities
  • Experience in mobile fleet maintenance and equipment, including practical involvement with trade work
  • Ideal 10 + years' experience
  • RCA training and experience in root cause analysis is a must
  • Experience with:
    • MS Suite
    • SAP
    • Oil Commander
    • Mine Star
    • One View
    • Modular
  • Experience in Reliability in a similar role is highly desirable.
  • CAT Certifications in Categories I and II are highly desirable or relevant experience in Vibration Analysis is required.
  • Data analysis driven.
  • Demonstrated personal skills, initiative, and drive to establish effective working relationships between maintenance and operational departments
  • Desire to work with and upskill/mentor national staff
  • Previous Experience working in a remote location in a developing country is advantageous
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work under pressure and autonomously
  • Excellent attention to detail and time management skills to meet deadlines
  • Strong active listening and interpersonal skills for rapport building, conflict resolution and training
  • Ability to lead multi-national work crews and develop team members by providing feedback, coaching and formal training, where required
  • Solid understanding and awareness of HSE requirements, responsibilities and obligations


Mobilisation Requirements:
  • Must be open to work FIFO in PNG
  • Ability to provide/obtain valid police clearance
  • Ability to successfully complete a pre-employment medical assessment
