About Nevada Gold Mines
Nevada Gold Mines is a joint venture between Barrick Gold Corporation (61.5%) and Newmont Goldcorp Corporation (38.5%), combining their significant assets across Nevada to create the single largest gold-producing complex in the world and realize the full potential of these mines through synergies and best-in-class operational improvements.

Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Superintendent or Senior Geologist, a Geologist I or II is responsible for the following:
Safety
- Provide a strong contribution to the site safety culture and programs, encouraging and ensuring others do the same
- Work with mining crews, mine supervision, drill services and drilling crews to maintain a safe working environment
- Design of delineation drilling programs for 18 month mining window, track and report weekly/monthly intercepts and progress, assist with yearly budgets
- Monitor and report out spends to drill budget
- Compile and validate drilling data; including assay results, downhole survey, geology logging and QAQC
- Support underground diamond and RC drilling activities underground through drill and drill station inspections, validating TD's
- Geological logging of underground diamond core and RC chips in acquire
- Geological mapping (either digital or on paper depending on location) and sampling of active faces and other exposures underground; requires use of scaling bar and working from elevated platform
- Ability to lift/move 50lb core boxes, transport underground samples up to 20lb over uneven terrain
- Compile mapping and assay information in VULCAN and/or Leapfrog mining software and correlate it with existing models
- Update geologic model with underground mapping, drilling, and level interpretations monthly
- Monitor sample collection (Face/Muck) for accuracy and consistency, timely delivery to lab
- Update of ACQUIRE database; and grade compilation for face and bench samples
- Determine and monitor the routing of ore in the underground mine based on assays and mapping
- Prepare weekly and monthly reports as required; assist with weekly and monthly reconciliation for model performance and impacts to grade
- Bachelor of Science in Geology or related field required
- Excellent safety record required
- Ability to work within a team environment and possess excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills required
- Previous underground mine (or open pit) operations experience preferred
- Familiarity with logging diamond core and RC chips preferred
- Familiarity with Leapfrog and Acquire software preferred
