Our people division is growing, and we are looking for an Inventory Control Specialist at our Cortez operation. As part of the Supply Chain team, the successful candidate will be support centric adding to our already challenging, yet rewarding, work environment strengthening our mining operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for analyzing warehouse inventories; ensuring optimal performance at the lowest possible cost to Nevada Gold Mines in compliance with established policies and procedures, under the general supervision of the Warehouse Manager.

Responsibilities:

  • Run a series of inventory reports on daily, weekly, or monthly basis and perform analysis of item performance.
  • Analyze and maintain the following functions within SAP and recommendations from Optimizer:
  • Reorder reports: Analysis of inventory prior to replenishment
  • Critical Control Report: Analysis of critical spare inventory for optimal availability.
  • Stock out report: Analysis of reported inventory stock outs
  • ABC/XYZ Class distribution report: Stratifications of inventory commodities for analysis.
  • Inactive stock report: Identification of inventory commodities that have no issuance for analysis of obsolescence and disposal to optimize company investment.
  • Perform inventory adjustments (quantity and price variance analysis)
  • Perform analysis, design and testing of Optimizer programs for utilization in inventory management to best service operational requirements.
  • Analyze and research requests for new stock additions, stock revisions and stock deletions.
  • Perform basic SAP functionality, part numbers, descriptions, item names, warehouse information.
  • Analyze and research direct purchase items for cataloging.
  • Cross train and learn basic warehouse and buyer functions.
  • Enforce inventory management policy and procedures and monitor adherence of these procedures within North American operations.
  • Cataloging items according to Nevada Gold Mines Standards
  • Perform excellent customer service.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Business, and no experience, or 2 years' experience in the procurement field.
  • Strong computer literacy (Excel, Word, Power Point, Visio, MS Project)
  • Strong analytical and communication skills (written & verbal).
  • Make arithmetical computations rapidly and accurately.
  • Communicate clearly and concisely.
  • Follow oral and written instructions.

About Nevada Gold Mines

Nevada Gold Mines is a joint venture between Barrick Gold Corporation (61.5%) and Newmont Goldcorp Corporation (38.5%), combining their significant assets across Nevada to create the single largest gold-producing complex in the world and realize the full potential of these mines through synergies and best-in-class operational improvements.

The massive mining operation comprises 8 mines along with their associated infrastructure and processing facilities that produced an estimated 4 million ounces of gold in 2018. Three of these assets are Tier One gold mines: Barrick's Cortez; the combination of Barrick's Goldstrike and Newmont Goldcorp's Carlin; and the combination of Barrick's Turquoise Ridge and Newmont Goldcorp's Twin Creeks.
