Purpose of Job (main objective):

Supervisor role is responsible for meeting the supply chain requirements of the mine's production and construction activities through warehouse functions.

Attends the documental requirements of different units or dependencies in the supply of materials, spare parts, equipment and other items of a warehouses and linking with the system.

Key Result Areas:

Abide all policies and procedures previously defined in the department

Technical Accountabilities

· Receive and inspect the documentation of the materials, spare parts, equipment, and other supplies that are received and dispatched of the warehouse.

· Ensure that the merchandise entering the warehouse is registered in the computerized system of the Warehouse.

· Ensure effective and timely implementation of all Logistics daily operational goals inclusive of Shipping functions and Inventory Management.

· Develop and initiate reports having required project timelines, corporate metrics and productivity measurements.

· Support inventory management consisting of reconciling and maintaining of finished goods inventory along with lot date the warehouse locations. Support with the counts of the periodic inventory when the inventory management require.

· Oversee and monitor availability of stock.

· Support simplification and standardization of processes to accelerate logistics and enhance efficiencies.

· Identify enhancement opportunities and suggest solutions for improvement to top management.

· Manage relationships and monitor performance of transport partners and clearing agents.

· Develop, articulate and maintain logistic process documentation.

· Ensure regulatory compliance surrounding any import regulation, duties and taxes; maintain relationships with various government and non-governmental agencies.

· Supervise the efficient loading of route and transport trucks

· Schedule the receiving and delivery of the materials raw materials/finished products in a timely manner

Cost Management & Reporting

· Gather inputs during the budget preparation process

· Provide day to day compliance of the budget to ensure the budget and forecasts are achieved highlighting any variances to management.

· Report on cost drivers such as attendance, overtime, equipment hours, task assignment, work performance and consumable items.

· Accountable for approval of purchases and expenditure within delegated limits of authority.

Staff Supervision

· Provide day to day supervision, acting as a technical reference point and mentor for staff to ensure work outputs are in line with daily and weekly business plans.

· In Supervisor absence, provide support in the daily operation in the warehouse.

· Monitor performance and develop review plans for all direct reports.

· Ensure fulfilment of staff against agreed rosters patterns and notifying management of gaps created during leave periods.

Education: (Level of schooling required)
  • Bachelor in Administration or in a relevant business field


Technical Knowledge:

· Tracking budget expenses, staffing and quality management, managing processes and reporting skills.

· Knowledge of Microsoft Office (advance excel)

· Knowledge of warehouse management systems

Experience:
  • 5 to 7 yrs. of experience.
