About the role

We are recruiting for a Business Improvement Manager (Commercial Services) for our newly minted Commercial Services & Digitalisation unit.

The role will primarily be focus on developing medium and long term improvement strategies for Commercial services to achieve operational excellence and organizational growth, and improve E2E

Integration, and persistently drives continuous improvement cultures and cross-fertilization of best practices across all business units globally.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is proven in change management and is highly motivated in working and achieving results through collaboration and execution.



Reporting to the General Manager, Commercial Services & Digital Bulk Pacific, you will be:
  • Engagement with business process owners to understand, prioritise and deliver business process improvement initiatives
  • Providing value analysis in determining best value options when evaluating business improvement initiatives.
  • Alignment across commodities in Atlantic & Pacific for all products on business process and sequence for delivery to achieve Commercial transformation programme objectives
  • Optimise Commercial Service processes through process redesign, digital and automation based on best industry practices
  • Ensuring that selected projects successfully deliver the needed requirements and benefits.
  • Maintaining a focus on business engagement, change management and training activities, and benefits delivery.
  • Set up data quality improvement standards and collaborate with user leaders to improve their processes to create and maintain quality enterprise/master/transaction data and reporting
  • Creation of KPI dashboard/metrics for success measurements
  • Assess risks governance and ensure compliance to RT requirements
  • Manage individual and team knowledge levels, identifying areas for growth and development where possible.

About you

To be successfully considered for this role, you will have
  • Bachelor degree in either Accounting, Finance, or Commerce.
  • The ability to comprehend business needs, convert them into requirements, develop and execute a change management and business implementation plan
  • Relevant experience in business process improvement, with implementation experience utilising Lean principles/Six Sigma/ DMAIC etc
  • Working knowledge of integrating digitalisation into the business process
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to reach out and build collaborative stakeholder relationships across different levels.
  • Proven effective leadership experience in driving performance for a sizeable team (2 4)
  • Demonstrated responsibilities in project management
  • High level of focus and attention to detail and ability to handle stress and workloads
  • Commercial mindset
  • Ability to work well in matrix environment and strong stakeholder management

It will also be beneficial if you have:
  • Knowledge of Mandarin language due to inherent business needs for Chinese market
  • Knowledge of Power BI or any other data analytics tools/applications
  • Experience and background in Commodity Industry, preferably Bauxite, Alumina, Aluminium and Shipping
  • Experience with international trade documentation/Letters of Credit
  • Trade Finance, Supply Chain & Shipping knowledge
  • International trade documentation / Letters of Credit is essential. Strong knowledge of Incoterms and UCP600

Our new Commercial Services & Digital team will streamline and guide how we invest in and harness technology for Commercial. This team will modernise and digitise our manual processes, addressing pain points for employees and focus on initiatives for improving customer experiences. We see Commercial Services as the engine room with their focus on post deal tasks such as invoicing, trade finance, shipping and laytime. Commercial Services & Digital is a unique opportunity to bring digital closer to the business, to create more synergies between teams and bring together business improvements to achieve business excellence.
