HERE'S WHAT YOU'LL GET TO DO
 
Reporting to the Vice President of Cement Operations Region West, this position is accountable for the overall performance and management of the Lehigh Southwest Cement plant located in Tehachapi, CA.
Essential Functions:

• Lead with safety and continually demonstrate a commitment to the Region West's Safety Vision.
• Drive sustainability and environmental excellence while managing community responsibilities and relations.
• Continuously improve operational performance with respect to production, maintenance, product quality, asset utilization and inventory management
• Promote operational excellence through best practices, measuring and benchmarking performance, technical improvement opportunities, and KPI measurement.
• Responsible for the development and execution of annual operating plans, including capital investment plan, AFE process, project planning and execution,
• Provide value-driven leadership in sustaining corporate culture - customer focus, workplace safety, employee relations, cost controls, environmental compliance, community responsibility, and industry involvement.
• Partner with Cement Sales, Logistics and other company functions and business units to enhance the Company market position,
• People development - evaluate, coach, and develop team members and plan for succession.
• Participate directly in managing labor relations, including the grievance process and as a member of the CBA negotiating team,
• Ensure compliance requirements are met through organizational and procedural measures including implementation of Group guidelines, performing training, monitoring compliance, etc 

This position will be based in Tehachapi, CA 
 
HERE'S WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
  

• Bachelors' degree in engineering, mining or chemistry preferred,
• Significant experience with career progression through increasingly more responsible positions in cement manufacturing,
• Experience with the modern cement production technology including Precalciner Burning Systems,
• Strong knowledge of modern maintenance technology and methods,
• Demonstrated ability to optimize production costs,
• Strong analytical and decision-making skills,
• Solid interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to lead others,
• Excellent oral and written communication skills,
• Ability to lead individuals and teams and to work as a team member to continuously improve plant operations,
• Knowledge of union contracts and/or prior experience working in a union environment strongly preferred,
